Security/Fire Detection: Capital Internet has a monitoring system that detects fire and any unauthorized persons on premises. The monitoring system automatically alerts the appropriate authorities as well as Capital Internet staff in the event that there is an intruder or fire.

Climate Control: Our cooling system consists of 6 5-ton AC units distributed throughout the Data Center with 2 additional backup AC units, thus providing a redundant system to keep your servers cool even in the middle of summer.

Floor: Industry standard anti-static raised flooring.

Other: We have both shelves and racks, allowing us to facilitate the colocation of any rack-mounted equipment, towers, external devices and other colocation equipment of any shape or size.

Connectivity

The Backbone: Capital Internet has our own Metro Fiber SONET ring, allowing us the ability to interconnect with any Tier-1 Carrier and bring that bandwidth to our customers. As part of our fiber build out, we have established a NAP (Network Access Point) in downtown Atlanta where we have interconnects with other networks like SPRINT, ATT, MCI, and BellSouth. This situation provides us the opportunity to acquire bandwidth at very aggressive pricing, and pass that savings on to our customers.

Network Equipment: Capital Internet uses only Cisco Routers and a combination of Intel, Cisco and Lucent for switching technology. In addition, Capital Internet utilizes Sun, Dell and Intel for it’s server hardware. A combination of American Power Conversion (APC) and Compaq equipment is used for our Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems. 3Com Communications enables Capital Internet to provide Voice-Over IP (VoIP) technology to our customers.
